Western Michigan Walk for Apraxia

Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!

As a pediatric speech-language pathologist, I have the privilege of working with children who put an incredible amount of effort into something many of us take for granted—being able to say what they want to say. For children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, every new sound, word, and sentence can represent countless repetitions, hard work, persistence, and support from the people who love them.

I walk because these children deserve to be heard, celebrated, and supported. I walk for the families who advocate tirelessly for their children, for greater awareness and understanding of apraxia, and for continued access to the specialized therapy, resources, and support they need.

I walk for every hard-earned word, every milestone, and every child who keeps trying.

I would love for you to join me in supporting this cause! You can help by making a donation to my fundraising page or by joining the Ivy Rehab for Kids West Michigan Team and walking alongside us. Whether you walk, donate, or simply help spread awareness, your support makes a difference for children with apraxia and their families. 💙
