Hampton Roads Walk for Apraxia

Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!

I walk for my son, Ellison, who was diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech. Seeing his daily grit, courage, and the hard work he puts into motor planning just to find his voice inspires every step I take.
I walk to support him and all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech—our Apraxia Stars. I want to show these children they are not alone and acknowledge the exhausting but necessary work they do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.
I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids, which strengthens the support systems in the lives of children by:
  • Educating professionals and families
  • Facilitating community engagement and outreach
  • Investing in the future through advocacy and research
Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now or by joining our team on the Hampton Roads Walk for Apraxia Page! You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia. I believe, “Every child deserves a voice”.
