Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk to support all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech - our Apraxia Stars. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.

CAS is not curable and not talked about enough. Not being able to communicate or articulate what you want or feel is a HUGE barrier. We definitely take being able to speak for granted but kids like Camden truly appreciate being able to be understood by their peers, family members, teachers, and strangers.
Apraxia Kids organization is a wonderful organization that helps families like myself get the necessary resources/supports to get through this tough journey. They are not well known as other organizations that support families with children with disabilities but they are making different in families lives everyday.
