Why We Walk for Apraxia Kids!

At Speakeasy for Kids, we spend our days helping little voices find their way out into the world—and apraxia is a big part of that mission.

We work with children who have so much to say, even when getting those words out can feel like climbing a mountain. We see the frustration, the determination, the tiny breakthroughs, the BIG celebrations, and all the hard work that happens behind every “I did it!” moment.

So, naturally, when we were given the opportunity to walk for Apraxia, our answer was YES. 

We’re walking because every child deserves to be heard, understood, and given the tools and support to communicate in whatever way works best for them.

We’re walking for the kids who have something to say but need a little extra help getting it out.

We’re walking for their parents, who celebrate milestones that others might take for granted.

We’re walking for increased awareness, better resources, education, research, and—most importantly—for a world that understands that having difficulty speaking does not mean having nothing to say.

And we’re walking because we believe every voice matters.
