Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk to support all children diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech — especially my star, Eleanor. Every single day, she works incredibly hard to overcome communication challenges that affect her ability to express her wants and needs, connect with friends, and show the world just how bright, funny, and intelligent she truly is. What many people take for granted — saying a word, answering a question, joining a conversation — can require enormous effort and persistence for children with apraxia.I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.
