Why I Walk for Apraxia Kids?

Sunday 5th Jul
Can you imagine a world when you didn't get to hear your child say "I love you" or even "Mama" or "Dada"?

For those of you know me and my family... Then you also ow that my 3 year old son Chase was diagnosed with Apraxia of speech when he was a little over 2 years old in 2025.

What is Apraxia of speech, you might ask, well here is the official definition: Apraxia of Speech (AOS): A motor speech disorder where the brain has difficulty coordinating the complex mouth and tongue movements needed to form words, even though the muscles themselves are perfectly healthy. Words often come out distorted or inconsistency.

We found this out when Chase wasn't talking as much as she should've for his age. We got him tested with an amazing group of people and instantly they knew he had all the signs of AOS.

Now Chase goes to speech therapy sessions every week with his amazing therapist Ms. Kelly. And these speech therapy sessions will be continuous for years to come so he can learn how to get his mind and mouth to speak clearly.

He has a long road ahead of him...and at times it won't be easy. Something you and I take for granted....the simple words to communicate to family, friends, coworkers and strangers, Chase will have to work hard to be able to do these things.

Since he was diagnosed almost 8 months ago...he has come so far already! He works hard on in therapy, and with all of us at home. I know he will always have AOS , but I know he can overcome all the struggles that it can cause... Why or How do I know this... Because he has all of YOU! You are his village, his fighters, his supports.

Thats why this is so important to our family. To not only support Chase on his Journey but ALL the children with Apraxia, because they all deserve a voice and they all deserve to be heard!

Please consider making a donation to raise awareness of Apraxia so ALL the children can get the help they need to find their voice!
