Why we walk!

Every September, my family and I look forward to the Walk for Apraxia in Oklahoma City. It has become such a special day for our family because we get to celebrate some truly incredible kids—including our very own Draycen. 💙

Children with childhood apraxia of speech work incredibly hard every single day to do something that comes so naturally to many of us: communicate. Every word, every sound, and every new milestone represents so much practice, determination, and perseverance. Watching Dray work through his own speech journey has made us incredibly proud of just how hard he works and how far he has come.

This walk is about so much more than raising money. It’s a day where kids with apraxia get to be celebrated for exactly who they are and for everything they work so hard to accomplish. They truly are Apraxia Stars! ⭐️
