Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
Before my 4-year-old son was diagnosed with Apraxia, I honestly didn’t even know what Apraxia was. Now it’s something our family lives with every single day. Watching your child struggle to say what’s in their heart and mind can be emotional, but one thing I’ve learned is that Apraxia does not define him and it definitely does not hold him back.
I walk for my son because I see how hard he works every day to communicate. I walk for the little victories that mean so much — the words he fights to say, the progress people may not notice, and the strength he shows at only 4 years old. He is smart, loving, determined, and full of personality, and Apraxia is just one part of his story.
This fundraiser is personal for me because I know there are other families out there just beginning this journey like we once were. I want to help spread awareness, support children with Apraxia, and remind parents they are not alone.
Thank you for supporting our walk, our son, and all the incredible Apraxia kids out there. 💙
