Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk to support all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech - our Apraxia Stars. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.

Why we walk!
Wednesday 15th JulWe're walking in the Walk for Apraxia because Zelda was recently diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and several other speech disorders. Over the last several years we have seen what determination truly looks like watching Zelda learn to talk so now we want to show up for her and help raise money for Apraxia.
Zelda has Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for her brain to tell her mouth how to form words. Every sound, every word, and every milestone she reaches is the result of countless hours of hard work, speech therapy, and perseverance. While communication may not come easily for her, her spirit, personality, and determination shine through every single day.
We're walking to raise awareness, support research, and help provide resources for children and families affected by apraxia. We want every child with CAS to have access to the therapies, support, and opportunities they need to find their voice.
