Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk for my daughter Gabriella.
Gabriella is 5 years old (turning 6 in July) and has been working hard in speech and occupational therapy since she was 2 to overcome childhood apraxia of speech and motor apraxia. Simple tasks like speaking clearly or coordinating movements that most kids take for granted require intense daily effort, focus, and determination from her.
Apraxia has taught our family the true meaning of resilience, patience, and advocacy. While the journey can be challenging, Gabriella’s progress and joyful spirit continue to inspire us every day. She lights up when she masters a new sound or accomplishes something new in therapy.
I walk to raise awareness, support vital research, and help provide resources and hope for families like ours. Every donation helps fund better therapies, earlier interventions, and a brighter future for children with apraxia.
Thank you for walking with us — in spirit or in person — and for standing with Gabriella and all the children who deserve to be heard.
