Kalynn's Journey
Kalynn’s journey began at the very young age of 15 months, when she started showing signs of developmental challenges and co-occurring disorders that eventually led us to a diagnosis of Childhood Apraxia of Speech. After numerous misdiagnoses and extensive testing, I quickly realized that I was her best — and often only — advocate. I knew I had to fight for her, and that’s exactly what I did.
Kalynn was officially diagnosed with the correct condition at 32 months old, and since then, she has attended speech therapy four days a week. Very recently, we reached a milestone we once only dreamed about: she has officially dropped down to speech therapy just once a month and is expected to be eligible for discharge within the year.
Her journey has been filled with challenges, perseverance, and victories both big and small. Watching her growth and progress has been nothing short of incredible, and every step forward is a testament to her strength, determination, and hard work.
