Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk to support all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech - our Apraxia Stars. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.
Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now or by joining our team. You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia!
I believe, “Every child deserves a voice”.

Apraxia Family
Friday 27th Mar When they say it takes a village that could refer to so many things. Raising a child, working on a project, even just coming together as a team to accomplish a shared goal. I am not a parent of a child with Apraxia. I am however an Aunt of a now teenager who has worked and overcome the many many challenges and difficulties that is Child Apraxia of Speech.
I have seen her struggle and cry and be frustrated when we didnt know what she wanted or was trying to say. I felt helpless in knowing I couldn't "fix" it or make it easier for her.
However with more information and understanding of what Apraxia is it helped me to understand her a little more. And her having that village let her know that she wasnt alone in this and that no matter what so many people had her back.
Knowledge is power I urge you if you dont know about Apraxia to dive in and do some research you wont be sorry. And you might learn something about a loved one you didnt know before that will help you better understand and draw closer with them.
