We walk for our sweet Addy!
Our sweet daughter, Adalynn, was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech this past June. For people who aren’t familiar with this, it is a rare motor-speech disorder where a child’s brain has trouble planning and coordinating the precise muscle movements to speak. We have learned so much in such a few short months and our girl is making huge progress with her speech! We are walking to support her and all individuals diagnosed with this disorder. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.
