The 2025 Walk for Apraxia will be an in-person only event! We are so excited to bring the community together and to celebrate all of the local Apraxia Stars. We will make every effort to provide an event experience that is safe, fun, and memorable for your whole team of supporters! The Walk for Apraxia is the largest fundraising and awareness event supporting children affected by childhood apraxia of speech across the US and Canada. Join us this September, October, and November as we come together in celebration with the Walk! Every registered individual will have the opportunity to work toward earning fundraising incentives, including this year’s official Walk tee! By supporting the Walk for Apraxia, you are supporting the programs that help our Stars shine.
Celebrate Our Apraxia Stars
The Walk for Apraxia celebrates the lives and hard work of our kids, our Apraxia Stars, who work so hard every day to overcome childhood apraxia of speech. Each Apraxia Star who registers for the Walk is recognized individually for their hard work. They will also receive a medal to celebrate their achievements!

Why We Walk
Funds raised through the Walk for Apraxia support the programs and services of Apraxia Kids, the leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech. Your fundraising and donations have helped us grow to serve families across the country, but we know there are so many more children we have yet to reach who lack the resources to find their voice. Apraxia Kids is a small organization with a big reach – your support, no matter how big or small, matters!
Frequently Asked Questions
The official Walk for Apraxia T-shirt is only given as a token of recognition to registered Walker that raise $50 or more. All registered Apraxia Stars will get their shirts for free!
If you raise $50 on or before Walk Day, your shirt MUST be picked up at the event so that you can wear it proudly on Walk Day! Participants who raise $50 after the Walk will be mailed their shirt. All additional fundraising incentive prizes will be awarded & mailed by the end of March 2024.
Please keep in mind incentive prizes are awarded based on individual fundraising, NOT team fundraising. Contact apraxiawalk@apraxia-kids.org if you need help allocating funds to the correct individual participants.
Each of our local Walk for Apraxia events has its own unique elements, but they all follow a similar structure! Walk Day begins with a window of time for registration and check in. Then, the day will kick off with a special ceremony recognizing all Apraxia Stars in attendance. Each Apraxia Star will receive a medal and certificate honoring their accomplishments. After that, its time to Walk! Everyone in attendance will join together walking as a show of support and to raise awareness in your community.
What makes the Walk for Apraxia truly special is the people. Walk Day is all about celebrating the Apraxia Stars in your community, bringing together their support network to cheer them on!
Totally fine! If you can't attend a Walk near you, you have the option to register for the Virtual Walk for Apraxia! Registering for the Virtual Walk for Apraxia means you can create your own day-of experience - anywhere, anytime. Participating virtually is as simple as it sounds: Register for the Virtual Walk, fundraise, and celebrate from the comfort of your own home! Take a walk around the neighborhood, have a party in your backyard, take advantage of our Celebration Kit, and do whatever else you choose to make sure your Apraxia Star feels celebrated!
