Alpaca For Apraxia

Syracuse Walk for Apraxia

Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!

Our Team Story & Mission

Welcome to our fundraising page for the Syracuse Walk for Apraxia!

I walk to support all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech—our Apraxia Stars. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.

Overcoming these obstacles takes immense courage, patience, and relentless practice. Every single step on the journey toward clear speech requires hard work. That spirit of endurance inspired our cause-driven initiative, AFA (Alpaca for Apraxia).

Just like taking on a long, rugged trail, finding your voice takes perseverance and a supportive community walking alongside you. AFA was created with a single heart-centered goal: to stand with these incredible kids, elevate awareness for Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and dedicate our broader efforts toward funding vital speech therapy resources and advocacy.

Why Your Support Matters

I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids—to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.

By making a donation to our team page or walking with us, you directly help Apraxia Kids:

  • Fund critical research and clinical training for speech-language pathologists.

  • Provide therapy grants and educational programs for families in need.

  • Ensure no child or family ever has to walk this speech journey alone.

Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now or by joining our team. You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia!

I believe, “Every child deserves a voice.”

Thank you for your generosity, your heart, and for walking this path with us!
