Oklahoma City Walk for Apraxia

Kam’s Journey

When Kam was diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech just after his 3rd birthday, he only had 10 sounds he could make consistently. We could see the frustration written all over him. He knew what he wanted to say, but the words were trapped inside him!

Since then, he has spent years working with speech therapists and working with his parents at home. Now Kamden is incredibly articulate for a 7 year old with Apraxia! He continues to work hard on his speech every day and some days are harder than others but his willingness to work on it even when it is hard continues to be an inspiration for his whole family!

Help us raise awareness for Apraxia Kids by joining us on our walk in OKC, donating to the cause, or simply sharing our journey!

Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!

I walk to support all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech - our Apraxia Stars. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives.

I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.

Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now or by joining our team.  You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia!
I believe, “Every child deserves a voice”.
