Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I'm walking for my son, Nico!
Nico has been working so hard to find his voice. Childhood Apraxia of Speech has made something as simple as saying what he wants, telling a joke, or being understood by others much harder than it should be for a little boy.
But Nico doesn't give up. He keeps trying, keeps learning, and keeps surprising us with how far he's come. I've watched him work so hard for every new word and every little step forward, and I couldn't be more proud of him.
We're walking to celebrate Nico, to celebrate how far he's come, and to remind him that his voice is important. We're also walking for all the other Apraxia Stars who are working every day to make themselves heard.
