Ezra and Emmett's Roar Patrol

St. Louis Walk for Apraxia

❤️ We’re walking for Ezra and Emmett and for every child fighting to find their voice. ❤️

For us, this walk is about so much more than just taking steps. It’s about our boys, our family, and making sure more people understand childhood apraxia of speech (CAS).

Ezra and Emmett have apraxia, a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for his brain to plan and coordinate the movements needed to speak. Something many of us take for granted—simply saying what we’re thinking, asking a question, or telling someone how we feel—can take an incredible amount of work for him. Ezra and Emmett work so hard every single day, and we couldn’t be prouder of him. There smile, energy, and personality shine so bright, and we want the world to hear everything he has to say. ❤️

Why should others care? Because communication is more than words. Every child deserves to be heard, understood, and given the tools and support they need to succeed. Apraxia is often misunderstood, awareness is still lacking, and families face real challenges finding and affording the therapies and resources their children need. These kids work incredibly hard for progress that others may never fully see.

We walk to raise awareness, support research, help other families feel less alone, and advocate for better access to speech therapy and communication tools. We walk for the kids who are working hard to say their first words, for the parents fighting to get them the help they need, and for every child who deserves a voice.

If you know Ezra and Emmett, you know how much love, laughter, and personality these two bring into our lives. We want every child with apraxia to have the same opportunity to share their personality with the world.

Every step matters. Every voice matters. And every bit of awareness makes a difference.

Thank you for supporting our boys and joining us in the fight against apraxia. We’re walking for Ezra, for Emmett, and for every child who deserves to be heard. ❤️
