🐝 Join D’s Bees for the Walk for Apraxia 🐝
We are so excited to share that D’s Bees will be participating in the Cincinnati, OH Walk for Apraxia in honor of our Apraxia Star, Dylan! 🐝💛
📍 Location: Delhi Park, 5125 Foley Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238
🗓️ Date: Saturday, October 3rd
⏰ Time: Check-in at noon; ceremony at 1 p.m.
Dylan has been on an incredible journey with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for him to plan and coordinate the movements needed for speech. While finding his voice takes a lot of extra work, Dylan continues to amaze us with his determination, resilience, and progress.
🐝 What have D’s Bees been up to?
It has been a BIG year for Dylan and his hive!
💛 Apraxia Awareness Day: The City of Mason officially recognized May 14th as Apraxia Awareness Day, helping us shine a light on Childhood Apraxia of Speech and the amazing kids working so hard to find their voices.
🗣️ A summer full of speech: Dylan worked incredibly hard all summer and attended speech therapy twice a week. He continued putting in the work to strengthen his speech and communication skills.
🎒 Back to preschool: Now that Dylan is back in school, he receives speech therapy through preschool and continues to attend speech therapy once a week outside of school. These opportunities give him even more support as he learns, grows, communicates, and builds confidence.
And through it all, D’s Bees have been right there cheering him on! 🐝
The Walk for Apraxia means so much to our family because it brings together families who understand this journey, raises awareness for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and supports resources that help children like Dylan communicate in their own way and in their own time.
