Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
💙 Walking for Apraxia of Speech in honor of Cameron 💙
Cameron has always had so much to say, even when finding the words to say it has been one of his biggest challenges. 🩵
Since before the age of 3, Cameron has been in speech therapy, working hard to find his voice and make himself understood. Speech has never come easily to him, but he has always found his own special ways to communicate with the world around him. Whether it was through gestures, acting things out, or getting creative to help us figure out exactly what he was trying to tell us, Cameron has always found a way. He has taught us that communication is about so much more than words.
For years, he has shown incredible patience as we worked together to understand what he was trying to say. As he gets older, we are beginning to see more of the frustration that comes with knowing what you want to say but struggling to get the words out. And yet, he keeps going. He keeps practicing, keeps trying, and keeps putting in the hard work, even when it isn't easy. We couldn't be prouder of his determination and persistence. 💙
Cameron is so much more than his struggle with speech. He is funny, lovable, athletic, kind, and full of personality. He has a way of making people like him and a light that shines far beyond words. We are so proud of the boy he is, the effort he puts in every single day, and the strength he shows even when things are hard.
We are walking for apraxia of speech to honor Cameron, to raise awareness, and to support all the children who work so hard every day to make their voices heard. We walk for the progress, the challenges, the victories big and small, and for a future where communication becomes a little easier for him and so many others.
Cameron, we hope you always know how proud we are of you. We see how hard you work, how much you persevere, and how much you have to say. We will always be right beside you, cheering you on and helping you find the words whenever you need us. You have so much to say, and the world is lucky to hear it. 💙
