Pancakes for Apraxia is a fun and meaningful fundraiser bringing the community together to support children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS).

In football, a “pancake” is when an offensive lineman delivers a strong block that takes a defender to the ground—showing strength, teamwork, and making a big impact for the success of the play.

Just like that powerful move on the field, Pancakes for Apraxia is about coming together to make a difference. Families, friends, teammates, and local supporters gather to raise awareness and funds for programs that provide critical resources, education, and support for children with apraxia.

Every Friday night this fall, Colin Urrea and his teammates will take the field ready to compete, chase victories, and stack pancakes along the way. Colin has decided to turn those pancakes into something even bigger.

Through Pancakes for Apraxia, Colin will use his passion for football to raise awareness and funding for children and families affected by Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS).

For Colin, this mission is deeply personal.

At just 2 years old, Colin was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, a severe motor speech disorder that made communication incredibly difficult. With years of intensive speech therapy, family support, and guidance from Apraxia Kids, Colin found his voice and overcame challenges that once seemed impossible.

Today, Colin is an honor-roll student, offensive lineman at the Community School of Naples, and a Division I football commit to the University of Pittsburgh.

But the pancakes will represent more than football stats or team goals — they will represent hope.

Every pancake recorded will represent hope, support, and opportunity — another child gaining access to resources, another family feeling less alone, and another voice being heard.

Through sponsor pledges and donations, 100% of funds raised through Pancakes for Apraxia will go directly to Apraxia Kids to support children and families around the world.

If your donation is a pledge per pancake:
At the end of the season, we will contact you with the final pancake total and your remaining balance due based on your pledged amount multiplied by the total number of pancakes made (Pledge Amount × Total Season Pancakes = Total Donation). You may then complete your full donation payment.
